Tarnya Bruineir established Gourmet You in September because family members were having problems with bowel disease and food intolerances. She wanted to be able to create flavourful gourmet meals for them that everyone could safely enjoy.

Flavour without Boundaries is how Tarnya sums up Gourmet You, which offers meal bases, cake mixes, recipes and help guides for people with food intolerances. Gourmet You is based in regional Victoria but Tarnya is planning to expand. Knowing how many families are affected by food intolerances, she aims to make her products as accessible to as many people as she can.

Gourmet You is unique in that it offers practical and versatile products anyone can use. “Our products are versatile for all walks of life, kitchen skills and flavours,” says Tarnya. “One product (Ciao Italy meal base, for example) could be used to make arancini, pizza, bolognese, bruschetta, casseroles, risotto, Italian salad dressing, etc. I love meeting people at the markets and seeing their faces when they realise there is so much about food they can still enjoy.”

Tarnya says the networking aspect of Sister Tribe is ‘fantastic’. “The collaboration and support amongst the sisters and leads is great, and there are the teachings and chats to look back on for help.”
