I am creative at heart, but also love the idea of running my own business. Early into my maternity leave in Jan 2023, I made a big decision to start On A Block, to not only fulfil my creative outlet but to also grow the business over time to hopefully be my sole income and create a family-orientated work-life balance.

Knowing a good solid business is a slow burn, I didn't want it to grow too quickly and miss out on the first year of my son's life. So I spent my evenings learning about marketing (paid & organic), product ideas, costings, competition in the market etc and launched my website in August 2023, just before I went back to my employment in the corporate world part-time.

I have created a business model that will allow me to diversify into different areas of customers. On A Block has been launched as a photo printing business for printing onto wood blocks and other homeware and keepsake accessories (soon to be released). My dream is for my customers to be able to print their favourite photos onto pieces that they can display in their homes or give as gifts.

Following the Retail side, I will also be offering a Print on Demand/ Wholesale side of the business for Artists or Photographers who may want to print their work onto the blank products I source for their own product range.

Finally, there are custom orders, where any business can discuss their project and product for printing. I'm not a large-scale printing business, and I want to target myself to like-minded small to medium businesses that would like to work with small to medium quantities.
