Meet Bethany

Bethany Neck Artist - South Australia

My business encourages creativity, for artists to playfully develop their painting and drawing skills. Being a visual artist and following a process of imaginative inspiration to produce an artwork, takes practice, determination and skill. I’m so proud to call myself an artist.

Artists have a poetic, relational way of thinking, interacting and connecting with the world. Everyone has the right to develop their artistry and creativity. It's foundational to learning and is a powerful medium for personal expression, both humanizing and healing throughout the process. I'm developing a multi-faceted art business to prove to myself that a reasonable income can materialize from a diverse business model.

I write, draw, paint in multiple mediums, exhibit and doodle poetry. I'm currently researching & visioning art treks that bring artists, eco tourism & conservationists together, to paint, sketch, record and socialize. We value, protect & care for native animals and their environments after walking, sitting, observing, listening, painting and building connections to 'place and each other'.

Writing my 'Expressive Watercolours’ book was the first step in developing ecological and ethical art walks and experiences in National Parks.

My entrepreneurial Journey felt it was time to establish a business that brought together 4 things that sustain me; Creativity, Immersion in Nature, well-being and Relationships.

I left a career in Primary Arts Education as my flame was going out! I wrote a book on painting Expressive Watercolours outdoors, developed my website, www.bethanyneckartist.com, created packs of cards and envisioned an exciting life as a professional artist.

My art business brings me daily joy! I'm interacting with artists, which means I’m amongst my tribe! The feedback from beginner and experienced artists who purchase my book is heartening. The book is essential, as it outlines sequential steps using simple composition and design principles, to produce a successful drawing or painting.

Through playful investigation, artists can paint ‘en plein air’ or reproduce favourite travel photos of events, places, animals or significant people in their lives.

I’m living in the 'flow of life’, either exhibiting, relaxing, socializing, marketing, researching, attending to business emails or painting - continuing to hone my skills, while my vision unfolds at a gracious pace…It’s bliss!
