Knotted by Hand - Victoria

My name is Katarzyna Dudkiewicz, friends and family call me Kasia. I’m a Polish girl who calls Australia home. I’m the creator of Knotted by Hand Macrame. My journey with art began at a very young age, I grew up immersed in and captivated by my late Aunt’s artistic expression, always feeling an irresistible pull to all things creative. My earliest memories are of laying on a wooden floor under my aunties work desk, the smell of paint permeating the air, the feeling of textured paper under my fingertips and the sight of paint brushes being deftly used on canvas. The magic of her workspace hypnotising me and capturing my imagination.

A witch once told me during a rune reading that I will spend my life far away from home, beyond an enormous body of water. Guess this is it - Australia - I have arrived.

Since becoming a mother to the two most wonderful boys, which in my eyes has been my biggest achievement, I have immersed myself in motherhood.

I feel I am finally mature & strong enough to invite stillness, warmth & calmness into my life. I am able to be with myself without the fear of missing out on something somewhere else. I am able to ignore the external noise and live a simple but full life.

This sense of inner peace allows me to create from within and connect to my core. I draw inspiration from the beauty of nature and a deep appreciation for the interplay of soft, cosy, earthy tones. I aim to create macrame designs that evoke a sense of serenity, harmony and tranquillity.

With a focus on adding sophistication and textured elegance I offer commission work, collaborating with clients to create custom pieces that perfectly complement their unique spaces. Whether it's a large-scale macrame installation or a personalised wall hanging I take great pride in translating a clients' vision into stunning macrame creations. Passionate about sharing my craft and inspiring others I also conduct macrame workshops. These engaging and creative sessions provide participants with the opportunity to learn the art of macrame through hands-on instruction and guidance. My students are immersed in a relaxing and enriching experience discovering the joy of creating their own macrame pieces.
