Growing up with serious skin conditions including eczema and later on, cystic acne, I was constantly experimenting and looking for answers on how to soothe the discomfort and improve the appearance of my skin. Alongside these, I experienced various allergies and chemical sensitivities. I'm also someone who lives with a disability (skeletal), queer and neurological divergent. I'm now 50 years of age and have been making my skincare for friends & family for many years. I couldn't easily find retail products that were suited to my skin, affordable AND packaged sustainably. I wasn't prepared to buy low-cost products packaged in single-use plastics, knowing that only 16% of plastics are recycled. urthPPL was born out of these struggles. I have learned a few things, having studied microbiology and law, and I wanted to share my knowledge to support others in living with sensitive skin.

urthPPL focuses on sustainability by sourcing local and native Australian botanicals to support Indigenous enterprises and generally reduce the mileage & emissions associated with our products.
